Senior Pastor

Hollies Baptist Church, 17691 Hollies Church Road, Keller, VA 23401) a small, conservative Southern Baptist church is seeking the man God would have as: Pastor, Part-time or bi-vocational; or transitional/interim pastor to help the church to be true to its mission statement to impact the world with the truth and love of Jesus Christ.

Youth/Student and Children's Minister

Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach 23455.  Bayside is seeking a part-time Student Ministry Director.  The Student Ministry Director is currently a part-time position (10-15 hours per week) that leads the ministry for middle and high school students at BBC ( 6th-12th Grade). The director provides strategic direction and vision to develop and improve student ministries, including the recruitment and training of volunteers, as well as the care and ministry for our youth throughout the week.

The mission of the Student Ministry is to reach out to youth with the saving love and power of Jesus and build the next generation up in the faith. Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, the student director will ensure that all teams, programs, and volunteers fulfill the vision of devoted disciples, strong families, and healthy communities. Additionally, the Student Director is responsible for serving according to the core values of Bayside Baptist Church  which are: the bible, people, excellence, worship, service, prayer, and community.

General Responsibilities

· Develop a relationship with youth to encourage deeper relationship with Christ via small groups, one-on-one, social media, community organizations and events, informal gatherings.

· Meet with the Student Ministry team at least quarterly for strategic planning.

· Encourage and equip youth to be leaders in church, at home, and in community.

· Recruit, coordinate, and equip adults to volunteer.

· Set budget and monitor expenditures of student ministry team.

· Communicate effectively with members of the youth group and their parents through a variety of methods such as phone, email, bulletins, website, social media.

· Implement and lead and/or provide oversight to ministry programs such as bible study, worship, mission trips, and community services.

· Performs all other related duties as directed by Sr. Pastor.

Nursery Worker

Eastville Baptist Church, 5413 Willow Oak Road, Eastville, VA 23347 

Purpose:  To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children while at our church, ages Newborn up to age 3 on Sunday mornings.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes feeding, changing diapers, escorting children to the bathroom, putting infants down for naps, holding, sitting and playing with the children while maintaining a safe environment.

  • Be polite, friendly and courteous to all children, parents and volunteers.

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to the Sunday Worship Service and stay until all children have been picked up by the named responsible adult, the room has been picked up and all toys put away (estimated 1 ½ hours weekly).  You may also have the option to work during other church events (Easter, Christmas Eve, and VBS). 

  • In the event of an emergency, the parent should be notified by text immediately.

  • Toys used during the service should be placed in the proper designated bin and any used linens should be pulled from the crib so they can be cleaned during the week.

  • Report to the Pastor any issues that are hindering your ability to carry out these responsibilities. 

  • Communicate two weeks in advance by phone to the Pastor any planned absence and two hours in advance any unplanned absence. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0-3 and have a love for children

  • Must be in good health, able to bend, stoop, lift and physically take care of children

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Satisfactory background check

  • Covid-19 vaccination preferred

  • Two references

Termination Policy:

  • There will be a 90-day probationary period where either party can terminate without cause.  Beyond this two-week notice is expected. 

  • Dependability is essential.  Tardiness and excessive absences cannot be tolerated and can result in termination. 

  • Immediate termination can occur in cases of intentional verbal, physical, or emotional abuse or neglect of any child, parent or volunteer.

Custodian/ Facilities Manager

 JOB PURPOSE:

To provide leadership and management for all Tab Church facilities, grounds, equipment, and vehicles including facility related strategic planning, volunteer recruiting/management, safety, project management, contract management for all systems and equipment, utilities management, grounds/landscaping, code compliance, custodial, and traffic/parking oversight.  

 

Job Title: Facilities Manager Status: Full Time 

Department: Facilities & Admin Reports To: Admin Pastor Salary: $45,000 per year + benefits

Hours: M-F 8am to 5pm (Sunday mornings and other times as needed); approx 45 hours per week. Comp time may be given as needed for after hours or weekend work.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining all Tab church interior and exterior facilities including (but not limited to) walls, roofs, electrical, plumbing, pest control, HVAC, vehicles, landscaping, and grounds; to be maintained and in good working order at all times.  

  • Coordinate and support facilities staff, volunteers, and vendors. Will have a facilities assistant (part time) to help with the day-to-day such as opening and closing the building, hands on work, projects, etc...

  • Oversee and coordinate the janitorial and cleaning crew to ensure all spaces are ready for church events (and participate if needed).  

  • In conjunction with facilities assistant, perform painting, light construction projects, or moving of furniture as needed

  • Create work schedules and task lists for facility team employees such as facilities assistant.  

  • Coordinate and help with event set-up and tear down during the week and on weekends; including climate control, access, cleaning, etc..

  • Develop a team of volunteers for special projects

  • Responsible for security including access control, keys, and cameras.

  • Manage, order and restock supplies needed for all facilities.

  • Assist in preparation of facility/grounds/operations budget and manage spending to plan throughout the budget year.  

  • Keep organized and updated maintenance records at all times on all facilities, grounds, equipment and vehicles. 

  • Primary point of contact for all outside vendors who service the property and facility

  • Meet with Admin Pastor on a regular rhythm for updates and support.  Meet with Elders and other senior leaders as needed.  

  • Attend all necessary meetings including staff and teams, Sunday services, etc.

  • Along with the facilities assistant, readily available in emergency situations to respond to facility issues, including during off hours (e.g. fire alarm, power outage, security alarm, etc).

  • Remain competent and current through professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses in keeping with the required skills.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • College Degree; Preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years with facility/property management or related experience, previous church staff experience a big plus.

  • Trade experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, vehicle maintenance are a plus; knowledge of IT and network systems a plus

  • Previous experience with using a property management software to track assets, Depreciation, PM schedules, manage supply inventory, etc.; Required

  • Previous experience with coaching others and leading a team; Required
