Youth/Student and Children's Minister

Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach 23455. 
The Student Ministry Director is currently a part-time position (10-15 hours per week) that leads the ministry for middle and high school students at BBC ( 6th-12th Grade). The director provides strategic direction and vision to develop and improve student ministries, including the recruitment and training of volunteers, as well as the care and ministry for our youth throughout the week.

The mission of the Student Ministry is to reach out to youth with the saving love and power of Jesus and build the next generation up in the faith. Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, the student director will ensure that all teams, programs, and volunteers fulfill the vision of devoted disciples, strong families, and healthy communities. Additionally, the Student Director is responsible for serving according to the core values of Bayside Baptist Church  which are: the bible, people, excellence, worship, service, prayer, and community.

General Responsibilities

· Develop a relationship with youth to encourage deeper relationship with Christ via small groups, one-on-one, social media, community organizations and events, informal gatherings.

· Meet with the Student Ministry team at least quarterly for strategic planning.

· Encourage and equip youth to be leaders in church, at home, and in community.

· Recruit, coordinate, and equip adults to volunteer.

· Set budget and monitor expenditures of student ministry team.

· Communicate effectively with members of the youth group and their parents through a variety of methods such as phone, email, bulletins, website, social media.

· Implement and lead and/or provide oversight to ministry programs such as bible study, worship, mission trips, and community services.

· Performs all other related duties as directed by Sr. Pastor.

Job Qualifications

· Become a member of Bayside Baptist Church

· Strong biblical knowledge and ability to communicate it to all ages.

· Experience in developing and managing creative and engaging ministry programs for students.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Strong Interpersonal and team building skills.

· Tech savvy and comfortable/knowledgeable in use of social media and apps to communicate and connect with students and their families.

· Skilled in use of computer software applications such as word, excel, and PowerPoint.

· A grounded Christ follower with deep a personal relationship with Jesus.

· A passion and vision for students and their families to grow in faith together.

· Strong interpersonal skills with youth and adults.

· Exceptional listener and communicator.

Preferred: College graduate with experience working with youth and serving on church staff is preferred. Experience leading and organizing Christian ministries.

· A self-starter and team player who can manage the creation, planning, and implementation of youth ministries.

New Song Fellowship, 865 Woodstock Road, Virginia Beach 23464. New Song is seeking a part-time children’s ministry coordinator to lead and help grow this area of our church. We want to see a children’s ministry that kids love attending, parents love bringing their kids to, and accomplishes the goal of discipling children to be followers of Christ.

Our ideal candidate can relate well to parents and to children as an encourager and stable presence in their lives. He or she should be gifted in age-appropriate Bible teaching and have a desire to train others in leadership and teaching skills. Our children’s ministry coordinator should be ready to practice, abide by, and advocate for best practices in safety and child protection.

We envision this part time ministry role normally requiring 8-10 hours per week with a flexible schedule for planning and administration, alongside leadership and teaching responsibilities at ministry events. We’re a non-formal, casual church with a children’s ministry currently serving 12-18 children on a weekly basis, with a solid group of volunteers – teachers & leaders – for small groups and Kids’ Church.

New Song Fellowship is searching for a church administrator to play an integral role on our ministry team. This position majors on planning, communication, and organization. Someone with strong initiative, a self-starter, and the ability to get projects done from start to finish is a big part of being successful in this role.

We envision this administrative role being in the range of 20-26 hours per week (negotiable) and are willing to build a schedule that’s convenient for you. Pay for the role is $15/hour, but starting salary may be higher based on experience or other factors.

Office and Communication Coordinator

King's Grant Baptist Church, 873 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach 23452, is seeking an Office and Communication Coordinator.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

1.     Manage/update information on the church website and multiple social media platforms weekly.

2.     Manage church calendar and schedules including Deacon Schedules, site reservations, baptisms,           ,          dedications, and Pastor’s schedule.

3.     Manage and communicate in-office staff schedules.

4.     Manage/update church membership and attendance rolls in database.

5.     Provide deacons with new member kits.

6.     Create/manage on-site publication of all events and services (funerals, dedications, baptisms,                          announcements, publications, etc.

7.     Purchase, manage, and organize office supplies, Sunday School class materials, Lord’s Supper Committee          materials, etc.  Ensure staff kitchen is stocked with supplies.

8.     Manage/maintain/issue church property keys.

9.     Serve as office receptionist and oversee volunteer receptionists.

10.   Serve as liaison between church and community including social services, security firm, area churches,              vendors, church committees, members and volunteers. 

11.   Perform clerical/administrative duties for staff.

12.   Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SKILL AND ABILITIES:

  •   Must possess excellent interpersonal and relational skills, be a team player, and use tact/diplomacy/            sensitivity/discretion.

  •   Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  •   Must have experience using office equipment such as copy, folding, and fax machines, printers, and            postage meters.

  •   Must have a working knowledge of Servant Keeper or similar in-office

  •   Must have experience creating, maintaining and expanding information on various media, marketing, and    graphic design platforms to include Facebook, Twitter, Sign-up Genius, Zoom, Canva, Constant
